So let us start with a little history today of our use of media and how it has affected my walk with Him.
First in the early 1980's I started out with cassette tapes and listened to many hours of sermons and the Bible on cassette. I listened to them as I was driving a lot and was able to do this for 4 to 5 years.
Then as I grew in my spiritual walk with God I was able to read more and so was influenced by a Godly pastor and started reading a top quality study Bible and as I was learning I wanted to verify more then one source on all this new doctrine and teaching that I was leaning. So I started on building a library of books on the Bible.
This launched a lifelong pursuit of reading and searching out and buying outstanding books of Bibles, Study Bibles, and books on Bible reference, doctrines and theology. So that now currently we have a library with over 3000 volumes of a wonderful fantastic library on Gods awesome Word.
So after getting into books with all my heart in the late 1980s computers come along and changed my world and how I could learn God's Word in a new way. This stirred in me the desire to help others in this new way with computer technology. I remember ordering my first KJV Bible on about 15 360k floppies disks for $100.00.
The text had typos and other issues but I was able to edit it and started up a Bible software company for seven years selling the Bible on floppy and also selling Christian shareware successfully. Then for personal reasons I had to shut down this company in the early 1990's.
But the computer had me hooked with the easy access to God's Word in electronic form. So during that time from early 1990's until the present I have continually developed multiple Bible Studies on the computer. I have hundreds of handwritten and typed notes that I would take as God gave me different ideas on indexing, sorting, and in general ways of making His Words more researchable.
I remember back in the 1980's the goal for all other Bible software developers out there was to make a Bible with the fastest searches. Then when the early 1990 came around it was adding other research tools with the text of the Bible to add value to their software.
What I focused on continually during the last 20 years was developing reference studies, text studies, and instead of searching the text I compiled all text searches as done and saved them into text files and then developed word studies using external text program for indexing, sorting, etc. www.ebiblewords.com is a great example of this. This was a lot of data on floppies at that time and running on 286 and 386 computers. Over the years I never stopped developing text studies and have over 150 gigs plus of Bible Study text files.
